Welcome to the planning page!!  Bookmark so that you cann come back and check updates periodically.  So excited to be collaborating with wonderful musicians and dancers. This page is not public, and only for artists, performers, and volunteers of the project.  Click Here to view the brief video of the nine sections.  The video is just for idea generation.  Each dancer/musician will interpret their sections based on their own inspiration and interpretation.  See below for contact information for each performer/musician , so that you can communicate with eachother if one section wants to collaborate with another to plan transitions, cameo appearances,  locations for filming, etc.  Transition plan can be photo(s), music, dancer interaction, fading out or other editing effects, etc.  Just like the branches of a tree, this will be an organic planning process that grows based on our ideas and inspiration as we move forward.  If you need to reach me, you can email me at Ltdancer40@yahoo.com, send FB message at Lisa Thornbury Clark, or call/text me at 513-478-6831. 

In a wonderful development, photographers Tina Gutierrez and Lindsay Brown have attended one or two filming sessions, and have taken some gorgeous photos!  You can see some of the photos below.  Dancers and musicians are working out individually with Tina how she (and you) can use the photos that she shares.  I am okay with you sharing some of the photos she takes during the session, but please include, when appropriate, something like:  "Photo by Tina Gutierrez or Lindsay Brown as part of the Whisper of Trees film project, coming in 2017".  You can also include the public web page website address,  if you would like.  A facebook share, for example, could be a place to put a "coming soon" message somewhere in the comments.  And of course credit Tina or Lindsay as photographer. You can also mention the "coming soon" on your websites, if you want to  list that you are a part of the film.  I will come up with a PR plan early next year and share more.  

Some of the information I need to know before scheduling a filming:
1.  do you want to film with pre recorded music or improve to nature sounds? (we will only use soundtracks for the final film, no live music)
2.  will you have any choreography, with specific moves timed to music, or will this be mostly or all improvisational?
3. for filming, do you have a location chosen, a time of day you want to film, and specific months you want to film?
4.  have you decided on costuming?  please describe colors/types of costuming.
5.  will you have any props?
6.  what will you need the day of the filming for your shoot?

The Whisper of Trees

Section ONE:  The Dreaming Seed

Dancers:  Irene, Michelle, Alissa

Musicians: Shari Lauter(?)  

Brief description:  Montage of dropping from tree branch, rolling under fabric, interacting with fabric and each dancer.  Modern Dance.  A large veil covering dancer/s who move underneath it. Semidarkness/ soft light. Dark coloured lights: purple, red, green, blue. Lights under the veil to create effect.  Slow floorwork, under big veil, breathing sounds, the idea of the seeds floating in the wind, free and light.  And I think of seeds hiding in fruit, that drop to the ground and only after exiting the fruit find the earth. So there's the idea of coming out of a thick costume, before rolling onto the earth. Different seeds, different dancers, different styles and space levels (upright and floor) Then they can converge on the ground, moving under the earth. Here I see a lot of beautiful floorwork in contact with the other dancer/s.

TRANSITION PLAN: Dancers slowly raise body parts (arms, legs, etc.) off ground then emerge to standing. 

Section TWO:  Emerging 

Dancer: Irene, Michelle, Alissa   Dance:  For the emerging of the seedling: dancer/s slowly and gradually come out underneath the veil. Dancers interacting with each other and in constant body contact pushing/pulling/supporting each other, tangled with fabric and/or limbs. Bright lights and wind  effect while emerging.  Dancers dance underneath, behind, between and in front of long pieces of fabric/veils.   
 
Floor work transition to stand. 
Music:  Wind and percussive, voice sounds

TRANSITION PLAN:  Possible interaction between dancers in first two sections, and Gail. 

Section THREE:  Rooting

Dancer:  Gail Corrado    Dance Style/Costume:  contemporary type of dance, with minimal costuming and movements inspired by yoga, dances of Afro derivation, and of course Middle Eastern.  A lot of stepping and breathing, contracting and releasing.

Music:  a solitary drummer with  some kind of a frame drum..a deff or a tar

Section SEVEN:  Dancing in the Wind

Dancer:  Katy Moeggenberg dances with white veil, spinning/turns, gliding/walking with veil, slow Middle Eastern dance influenced moves with veil frame.

Section Eight:  Release

Dancers:  Laura Calmes, Melissa Calmes, Mateo Rhodes as old man in the tree:  Montage of clips of all three musicians playing their instruments, Laura dancing solo with violin and/or ISIS wings,  Missy dancing solo with her cello and/or black dancer wings, Laura and Missy improv together, Laura/Missy and Mateo as man in the tree with some interaction between dancers and man in tree.

Costume:  Laura in white costuming with light purple ISIS wings, some sheer white body paint on face, arms, stomach.  Missy in black costuming with black dancer wings, some sheer white paint on face.  Mateo in grey body paint, grey dyed costuming.

TRANSITION PLAN: Nighttime wings clips of Laura and Missy, cello solo, possilby light zills transition music fade out, fade in to Section 9

Section NINE:  The Whisper of Old Trees

Dancer:  Lisa Thornbury (collaboration of dancers hopefully in all white and also all black costuming, possibly more tree men also!  Stay tuned!)

Musicians: Mateo Rhodes, or may ask another musician if Mateo does not have time.  possible music:  cello solo with light chimes/zills or gong, gong solo at very end, or one native american flute.  TBD!!

Costume/Dance:  Lisa in browns/blacks/whites.  One group dancers in all white, circling tree as a group.  Costume change to all blacks/greys.  Dancers sitting around tree with coordinated/synchronistic movement swaying of arms/hands/torso (both black and white costumes are dressed for weather, long sleeves, tunics, harem or yoga pants, skirts, warm clothes of same color underneath, etc)

Transition Idea to end the film:  Lisa representing crone tree walks down tree lined path (possibly Mitchell Memorial trail on West Side of Cincy) and slowly fades into nature) with tree men and other dancers possibly interacting or dancing around Lisa, or maybe just honoring the journey of the old tree into completly dissolving back into nature.  Not sure yet, still visioning this part.  Also have to find interested dancers to do this part with me.
